The United States has long had a love of power, performance, and fast cars. One brand that has consistently excelled at pushing the limits of what a car can do is Chevrolet. With roots dating back to the 1940s, by the 1960s, Chevy was leading the muscle car world. In the modern era, that legacy is continued, with the 2023 Chevy COPO Camaro. At Cable Dahmer, we are proud to share are knowledge of this powerful muscle car.
What is the COPO Camaro?
The Chevy COPO Camaro is a high-performance muscle car that dates back to 1969. At the time, General Motors had limited the size of the Camaro engine to 400 cubic inches. Despite this, some creative Chevy dealerships devised ways to get more powerful vehicles from the factory.
By using Central Office Production Orders, dealers like Yenko Chevrolet and Fred Gibb Chevrolet were able to order Camaros that were much more powerful than you would typically see. These were known as the COPO 9561 program and the COPO 9560 program.
201 units were built for the Yenko order, and 69 Camaros meant for racing were produced. After that initial run, Chevy did not produce any more COPO Camaro models. That was, until 2011. For the 2012 model year, GM reintroduced the COPO Camaro, giving racing enthusiasts access to a track-only vehicle once more.
How Much Horsepower Does the 2023 Chevy COPO Camaro Engine Make?

When properly equipped, the new COPO Camaro makes 1,004 horsepower. Not every model will make that level of power, but those with the 632 cubic-inch 10.4-liter V8 engine will. In terms of torque, this V8 generates 876 pound-feet of torque. This means that from the factory, the new COPO Camaro beats out rivals from Ford and Dodge. And that is why we are excited to offer it for sale at our store.
COPO Camaro Engine Specs and 0-60 Speed Time
- Engine: 632 cubic-inch 10.4-liter V8 engine.
- Horsepower: 1,004 horsepower.
- Torque: 876 pound-feet.
- 0-60 mph time: Approximately 3.5 seconds.
There are two other engine options available to this muscle car. They include:
- 427 V8 engine, making 470 horsepower
- 350 supercharged V8 engine, with 600 horsepower
All engines come standard with a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. With the Hurst Quarterstick shifter, this vehicle promises serious performance.

Top 3 Winter Car Care Tips

Believe it or not, winter is on its way in Kansas City, and that means it’s time for winter car care tips. With cold and inclement weather, caring for your car becomes even more important. That way, you know your vehicle is functioning properly all winter long. Here at Cable Dahmer Chevrolet of Kansas City, we’ve put together the top three winter car care tips for KC drivers.
How can you winterize your car?
There are many ways to winterize a vehicle, and it seems like everyone has different opinions. But there are a few steps you can take to help keep your travels reliable and safe during the winter months.
Whether you drive a car, truck, or SUV, we encourage you to consider these winter car care tips.
1. Test Your Battery
It’s easy to forget about your vehicle’s battery, but when it gets cold out, that is not something that you will want to do. Extreme cold or heat can impact your batterie’s performance, potentially leaving you stranded. At our Chevy service center, we can test your battery and let you know if it is functioning as it should.
2. Check Your Tires
Kansas City winters may not justify a dedicated set of snow tires, but you don’t want to neglect whichever type of tire you are using. Many choose to equip their ride with all-season tires, the kind that can handle each season. Keep an eye on things like air pressure, tread, and tire wear. If you notice a leak or low tread, be sure to contact our tire store for help.
3. Have An Emergency Kit
If you get stranded, having an emergency kit can be vital. Each person might have a different idea of what gear they need, but you should always pack key items. These items include:
- Cell phone charger
- Jumper cables
- Flares
- Ice scraper and shovel
- Kitty litter for traction
- Coat or other warm clothes
Count on Cable Dahmer during winter
We take the health of your vehicle seriously. Because of that, we are prepared to help you properly winterize your car. If you are in the Kansas City area, schedule a service appointment today. Whether it be an oil change, tire rotation, or battery test, we’ve got you covered.
Looking For A Missouri State Vehicle Inspection?

If you are searching for a Missouri state vehicle inspection in Kansas City, our team is ready to help. At Cable Dahmer Chevrolet of Kansas City, we provide free state inspections. And that means you can get the proper documentation to title or register your vehicle.
Does Missouri Require State Inspection?
In the state of Missouri, state safety requirements are required for all motor vehicles. But, in 2019, some exemptions were introduced. Because of that, it’s not uncommon to wonder if you need a state safety inspection or not.
At our Chevy dealership in KC, we are happy to help with the state inspection process. We even offer free Missouri state inspections on all makes and models. And that means you can get the proper documentation to renew your registration or title a vehicle.
In terms of which vehicles are exempt from needing a state safety inspection, if your vehicle is less than ten years old and has under 150,000 miles on the odometer, you do not need an inspection. There are other exemptions as well, depending on what kind of ride you have.
If you have questions regarding the inspection process or you are looking for a service center in Kansas City, we encourage you to reach out to our team. We will gladly share our knowledge with you, allowing you to make an informed decision.

With impressive competitors like the Ford F-150, which was completely redesigned in 2021, and the Truck-of-the-Year Ram 1500, Chevrolet has given the 2022 Silverado 1500 an impressive facelift. Improved interior materials and more advanced technologies have helped this truck turn heads and demand attention.
October 24, 2022
Are you trying to find the best truck for sale? If so, the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 should definitely be on your radar. Here you can find the answer to “when can I buy the 2022 Chevy Silverado” and learn more about the price, features, and where to buy it.
2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
When it comes to new and exciting features, there are more than a few worth mentioning. All trims of the 2022 Silverado have a restyled front end; however, only the LT was equipped with a new, improved interior styling.
The interior of the LT trim has a more modern layout and improved cabin materials, as well as a 13.4” touchscreen infotainment screen and a 12.3” digital gauge cluster.
All trims of the 2022 Silverado come standard with active safety features, and the High Country (the top-of-the-line trim) offers optional Super Cruise, which is GM’s hands-free driving technology.
Starting at $34,845
You can find a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for sale near me at Dahmer Chevrolet in Kansas City. The starting price for this redesigned truck is $34,485, with plenty of optional features to consider.
Overview
There’s no question that when it comes to full-size trucks like the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, brand loyalty is a huge buying factor. If you consider yourself a Chevy brand loyalist, there are more than a few new things to get excited about.
While the competition is impressive, the 2022 Silverado has “slapped back,” with an improved cabin and optional self-driving feature that can be used to tow a trailer. The engine options are strong, offering a turbo four, six-cylinder diesel, and a 6.2-liter V-8.
If you need a truck that can keep up with you on the job, the 2022 Silverado delivers with a towing capacity of up to 13,300 pounds with optional trailing assists.
Where this Vehicle Ranks
According to the report from U.S. News & World Report, the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is ranked fourth in the full-size pickup truck category. It scored 8.2 out of 10, which was based on a study that evaluated 42 pieces of data and research using different sources.
Ram 1500
A top competitor for the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 is the Ram 1500. While they both offer amazing trucks that can get the job done, the towing capability of Chevy surpasses Ram in every way. However, that’s not the only place that the Chevy outranks Ram. It also has more power, comfort, and style. Chevy also received a higher safety ranking, which is a top priority for today’s buyers.
Ram 1500 TRX
There’s no question that both Chevy and Ram are known for producing hard-working trucks that get the job done. However, when considering the right full-size pickup for you, you must look at all the options. The Ram 1500 TRX gives the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Trail Boss a “run for its money” regarding the best truck available.
However, Chevy has made a point to ensure that this truck stands out, with larger optional wheels (22” vs. Ram’s 18”), better fuel economy, and a higher eco-friendly rating. The Chevy also has more power and higher towing capacity, making it the ideal option for anyone searching for a durable and quality work truck.
Ford F-150
Another competitor in the field of full-size trucks is the Ford F-150, which is another brand that drivers are extremely loyal to. While the F-150’s interior has the edge over Chevy’s, the Silverado offers more cargo bed space (which is a priority for most truck drivers). You can also choose the long-bed crew cab offered by Chevy, which increases your bed space even more.
Ford F-150 Raptor
The Raptor provides slightly more power than the Silverado thanks to the 3.5-liter turbocharged V-6 engine. It is also specially designed for desert racing featuring a Baja drive mode and Fox racing shocks. These features and the low-range gearing make it possible to scale mountains and make it through muddy riverbanks without issue. While that’s the case, Silverado provides plenty of off-road features for anyone who wants to venture off the beaten path.
Chevrolet Silverado 1500
Are you still on the fence regarding if the 2022 Silverado 1500 is the right full-size pickup for you? If so, learn more about the specifications of this truck here.
Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2
The Chevy ZR2 offers drivers a full-size truck that is easy to maneuver in tight spots and that provides a smooth ride that isn’t always offered with vehicles made for off-roading. It provides plenty of power thanks to the engine options and all types of rich creature comforts and modern amenities. The ZR2 offers plenty of modern amenities and creature comforts, such as heated front seats and leather trimming. You can access all infotainment features, including Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a touchscreen interface.
Pricing and Which One to Buy
The base trim of the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is the Work truck, which starts under $35,000. If you have a budget for your truck purchase, then the Work trim or Custom trim is the best option for you. A step above this is the LT model, which provides you with a more upscale interior. Opt for the crew cab and standard-length bed for the best interior bang for your buck. With this configuration, you get max passenger and cargo space. For the engine that offers the cheapest and fastest option, choose the 5.3-liter V-8 instead of the diesel engine. Also, with the V-8, you can add the optional Z71 Off-Road package, which provides all types of modern tech and hardware.
Engine, Transmission, and Performance
You can choose from several engine options with the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. These include:
- Turbocharged four-cylinder engine
- Two different V-8 engine options
- Duramax diesel 3.0-liter inline six
With these options, you can find an engine set-up that is perfect for your needs. Of the two eight-cylinder engines, the fastest option is the 420-horsepower 6.2-liter option which can reach 60 miles per hour in only 5.4 seconds.
The diesel engine provides the slowest acceleration, but if you want a smooth and quiet drive, this may be the one to choose.
The driving experience is impressive for a full-size truck with agile handling and a reassuring brake pedal. If you want a more rugged truck, then the Trail Boss trim is smart, as it features larger, more “grippy” tires, a 2.0” lift, and other upgrades that make it the perfect off-roading companion.
Towing and Payload Capacity
Chevy makes sure that if you have a job to do, the Silverado is there to do it with a maximum towing capacity of 13,300 pounds. This beats the towing capacity of the Ram 1500 by 550 pounds. You can get this top towing capacity with the 6.2-liter V-8 and the diesel engine. However, the 5.3-liter engine is no slouch, with the ability to tow up to 11,500 pounds, and the turbocharged four-cylinder engine can handle up to 9,500 pounds.
Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG
When it comes to fuel economy, the Chevy Silverado 1500 doesn’t perform as well as some of the competitors. However, there are powertrain options that are more efficient than the others. For the most economical option, choose the diesel engine, which has an estimated mileage of 23 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. If you choose the optional all-wheel drive configuration, then the highway mileage drops to 26 mpg.
The turbo-four features 20 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway, and with an all-wheel drive configuration, this drops to 16 mpg and 22 mpg, respectively.
Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
It doesn’t matter if you choose the stripped-down Work truck trim or the more expensive, decked-out High Country trim; the Silverado 1500 can be configured in several ways. The base model only provides you with the essentials; however, the Work trim includes front seats with manual adjustment knobs, vinyl seats, and manual windows and locks.
If you choose the next trim level offered, then choose the LT. The interior cabin is much more equipped and comes with a 12.3” digital gauge cluster and an impressive center touchscreen. The interior of the High Country is especially well-equipped, featuring open-pore wood trim and leather upholstery.
The crew cab offers a large rear seat and plenty of headroom. Unfortunately, the cushions leave a bit to be desired. While this is true, it’s a practical vehicle for hauling and towing and offers several storage cubbies in the cabin. Another feature that makes this truck a great option is a multifunction tailgate called the Multi-Flex. You can also choose from several bed lengths to satisfy the traditionalists.
Infotainment and Connectivity
All the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 trims are equipped with an infotainment system, including a large touchscreen that supports a mobile hotspot, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. The buttons and knobs make the system simple to learn and interact with. The touchscreen also provides prompt feedback when the touch inputs are used.
The 13.4” touchscreen also features enhanced features, including wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with Amazon Alexa integration and a Google-powered voice assistant.
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
Each of the Silverado 1500 trim levels comes with several driver-assist features, too, for 2022. You can choose from several towing assists, which make hooking up and pulling a trailer easier and more efficient.
If you choose the top-tier option, the High Country, you can also have it equipped with Super Cruise. This is the hands-free-driving technology offered by GM. According to Chevy, it will even work while you are pulling a trailer.
Some of the standard key safety features that are offered by the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 include:
- Rear cross-traffic alert
- Lane-departure warning
- Automated emergency braking
- Forward-collision warning
- Blind-spot monitoring
- Lane-keeping assist
- Warranty and Maintenance Coverage
The 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 comes with a competitive warranty from the brand. While this is true, it isn’t quite as long as what is offered with the Nissan Titan. If you purchase this truck, you can receive a limited warranty. This coverage provides you with three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. You also get a powertrain warranty that covers the first five years after purchase or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. It also comes with complimentary maintenance for the first visit.

Why it is essential to have tires with good tread?

Tires have a long history. The first tires were essentially solid curved circular wood. Then, some uncomfortable travelers added Leather to help soften the journey. Many years later, they progressed to solid rubber and finally into the advanced pneumatic radial tires we see today.
As you can probably tell, tires have gone through changes and will continue to improve for many years. Over the past 25 years, we’ve created tires that can run without air and exceed mileage only dreamt of years ago.
Construction materials in tires have evolved, becoming lighter and more robust. Steel belts replacing fabric cords and changes in tire shape have resulted in better fuel economy and sharper handling. Goodyear has extensive use of Kevlar in its tires, which is stronger and lighter than steel.
Tire tread gives your tires grip; the quality of tread you have left determines how well your tires work. As safety should be one of your primary concerns, having good tire tread is an important piece of that.
Good tire tread helps you accelerate smoothly and brake quickly. It can also help you maximize your fuel economy, saving you money at the pump.
The tire tread is the part of the tire that actually meets the road, and it has to endure a constant barrage of obstacles. It’s the first line of defense against potholes, oil from the road, and bad weather.
As tire tread begins to wear down, it can lose its ability to allow water to escape. Tires with a high tread-to-void ratio provide better water and braking ability. That’s why many experts recommend you should change out your tires early in the spring before rainy weather starts to hit.
Just as vehicles are engineered with a particular kind of performance in mind, tires have been engineered for specific types of uses. Our Tire Experts at Cable Dahmer of Kansas City would love to talk with you about the kind of driving you do and the best type of tire for your needs. We love to help customers just like you, and we take great pride in knowing our customers are safer on the roads.
What Is GM’s Ultra Cruise?

General Motors announced near the end of 2021 Ultra Cruise, a new revolutionary step forward in giving drivers a real hands-free experience.
Ultra Cruise is a revolutionary new technology, as GM takes the next step towards automating 95 percent of all driving scenarios. GM vehicles will eventually use ultra Cruise on every paved road in the US and Canada.
GM claims Ultra Cruise will cover more than 2 million miles at launch, which is definitely a usable driver aid, although it isn’t covering all roads yet. The hands-free driver’s technology will coexist in the existing lineup, with Super Cruise relegated to the main lineup of vehicles. At the same time, Ultra Cruise will be reserved for the more premium lineup.
What’s the difference between Ultra Cruise and Super Cruise?
The short of the matter is that Ultra Cruise will bring the highway-only hands-free experience of Super Cruise to local roads and city streets. This exciting technology will mean your GM vehicle will drive itself significantly more of the time than was previously possible with Super Cruise.
What makes this possible is the Ultra Cruise’s LiDAR system, which works in tandem with cameras and sensors around the vehicle which “sees” the environment as it drives. That means that Ultra Cruise will be capable of reacting to traffic signals, posted speed limits, and avoiding objects. In addition, GM claims it can park in driveways and complete lane changes.
Like Super Cruise, Ultra Cruise uses the steering-wheel-mounted lightbar to alert drivers of its system’s status. It also monitors the driver with the onboard camera system to ensure drivers are ready to take control of the vehicle if required.
What are the current limitations?
Although Ultra Cruise is more than capable technology, there are still a few limitations to the hands-free driver technology.
Construction zones requiring lane shifts, multi-lane roundabouts, and strange roadway anomalies can confuse the driver technology. Four-way stop intersections that need drivers to make eye contact or hand signals can also be a challenge for the Ultra Cruise.
Inclement weather is also rumored to be a difficult challenge for the system.
Whenever Ultra Cruise comes into a situation it doesn’t know how to handle; it may alert the driver to take temporary control. GM calls this a “non-urgent escalation” instead of an emergency in which the driver has to make a sudden maneuver to avoid damage or extreme danger.
If the driver doesn’t respond, the system will bring the vehicle to a safe stop.
GM’s Ultra Cruise is a huge step forward in driverless technology, even with these limitations. It is poised to significantly impact the way drivers navigate highways in the US and Canada.
Is GM’s Ultra Cruise technology Level 3 autonomous driving? No. Is it a huge step forward in driverless technology? Absolutely. GM’s Ultra Cruise technology will be a huge step forward in making the driving experiences safer and more convenient. It gives buyers even more reason to consider a GM vehicle as their next purchase.
